common questions about therapy
do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, meaning I do not accept insurance. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at the time of appointment. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance typically will reimburse you for 60-80% of the cost of each session.
how much does therapy cost?
$150 per 45-minute session
can you work with clients from anywhere in the United states?
i am licensed to practice therapy with clients who reside in illinois and michigan.
what if i can’t afford your rate?
i offer limited sliding-scale spots, please inquire during your free 15-minute consultation.
how long will i be in therapy?
Many of my clients find that they’ve met their goals in 6-9 months and no longer need therapy. I also have clients who choose to remain in therapy for much longer; they have seen improvements and still really enjoy having ongoing support and a place to process their thoughts and feelings each week. It’s totally up to you since there are no limits set by insurance.
good faith estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
